I can’t get into my vault on any of my operating systems iOS, Android or OSX.
I’ve tried reinstalling and clearing data from the iOS and Android apps. There’s no change with the android app, but the iOS has displayed the following error message.
“An error has occurred. Cryptography error, The cipher’s MAC doesn’t match the expected value”
In case there has been some corruption of your account, do get in touch with Support a.s.a.p. — Bitwarden only maintains backup data for 7 days, so this is the timeframe during which you would have to convince them to restore the database records for your vault (which they sometimes will do, if the problem was caused by a technical glitch on their end).
Thanks, I have contacted them.
I’m really troubled by this though. Bitwarden seems to be getting really buggy. Not just this. Im personally really losing confidence in it. Not sure I can continue relying on a password manager where this is ever possible.
Yeah, wherever you go, back up often. They say data that you don’t control, aren’t your data.
BW is rolling back (or pausing) a cryptography-related change that may or may not be related to this, so you may want to make sure to use 2024.8.3 wherever possible, and maybe not using the Mobiles (uncertain status) to add/modify data for now.
I’ve already contact the support. They know the problem and are working on it. They suggest me to export my vault and delete my account and then create a new one but I prefer to wait the next app update hoping that it will fix the issue.
Thx
