Can't create Passkeys

I have the Bitwarden browser extension installed in several browsers on Linux Mint. I have set the notifications to ask to save and use passkeys, but am not able to create passkeys.

@Bill1 Welcome to the forum!

Did it work until recently (before it stopped) – or do you try to set this up for the first time?

Linux Mint is not using Wayland, right? (there is a bug with Wayland affecting passkey usage…)

Let’s say you would like to store a passkey for this forum here in your Bitwarden vault via the browser extension… if you go to Preferences → Security here on the forum and click + Add passkey – what does happen? (if you post a screenshot, make sure to redact any personal information)

I was able to create a passkey on this forum. What would the procedure be for a site that wants a passkey that is a device?

Sites (relying parties) can restrict what “happens” with their passkeys… If a site restricts passkey storage to hardware-bound passkeys (e.g. passkeys stored on physical security keys), then you can’t store them in Bitwarden.

I’m not exactly sure about that screenshot. First, it’s about log in / sign in, and not storing a passkey. So that could mean, the site “knows” that there must be a hardware-bound passkey (which was set up before for that site), that you have to provide now.
