BW iOS app: "Missing key for id: User"

This error started to happen a week or two ago. Upon launching the iOS app (currently version 2025.6.0 on iOS 18.5), I get an error “Missing key for id: User”, with “OK” as only choice. After pressing OK, I only get an endlessly spinning spinner, no passwords or other data. It happens like 80% of the time but not always.

Reinstalling the app and/or rebooting the phone didn’t help.
Desktop (Mac) app works fine, and so do the browser extensions.

Any tips?

Hey, I just found this GitHub issue - I would recommend, reading the comments there (it just got closed and a fix could come with the next release, I guess):

It hasn’t appeared for some time, might be something server-side. Thanks!

It is also experiencing an error if i launch the bitwarden using the key icon from a form I’m filling out and i try to search for a different entry it just displays “an error has occurred” as soon as you type the first letter in to the search field. I have reinstalled bitwarden, made sure it is the default and only enabled password autofill app, and forced a hard reboot of the ipad.

@crumdev Welcome to the forum!

I’m not completely sure when I read your posts - do you experience this issue / error message: “Missing key for id: User” ?

Yes, sorry I posted out of order. I’m experiencing the same missing key for id: user error as well as the app thinking there is no username/password for the entries on Ipad

Hey @crumdev if you’re experiencing this on the latest version (and looks like reinstall did not resolve) don’t hesitate to file a bug report here, or contact the official support team: Help Center | Bitwarden
