Bulk update

Hello,

I use bitwarden for my work application accounts and every few month I have to change my password.
It is possible to “bulk/mass update” passwords stored in bitwarden?

Thanks

Are you using the same password for multiple accounts? This isn’t good practice so I’m not sure if it’s something that Bitwarden would be looking to build in. I know you can’t do that currently with it.

One option could be to use the CLI client to perform bw edit functions on each item.

Sometimes it’s just that different parts of the URL changes for the same website/login. My employer is a good example. We have single sign on for email, sharepoint, etc but all URLs are different and BitWarden does not recognize.

Any chance that adding additional URIs to a login would help? You can keep a running list each time it changes.

As @tgreer said, you can have multiple URIs attached to one entry in Bitwarden. If you have the same login credentials, add each URI and it’ll match on all of them. You don’t need separate entries for email, SharePoint, etc.

Ooh! Yes!! I like that option MUCH better. I’m coming from Lastpass which does not offer such a clever AND better idea. Thank you! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Now I’ll have to ‘combine’ (merge) those like URLs sigh Thanks for nothing, Lastpass :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Is there a way to bulk update the email/username for all/selecter accounts in Bitwarden?

One way (not optimal) I found :

  • put all password in the same folder.
  • export csv
  • update with find/replace . Notepad++ for exemple. And a keep backup.
  • delete all folder on bitbucket
  • import new csv
  • if all good, delete backup…
