BUG bw cli on m1 mac and intel linux timeout lock with apikey

I first ran into this bug over 2 years ago. A co worker who has access to the subscription posted about it. We have not heard anything since so I am re posting it.

Issue: After 1 hour the bw cli locks the local session at command line due to configured web logout. Documentation for apikey states that it will never expire! It is however ignoring documentation, the timeout duration, and timeout action all together. My account is setup for a 12 hour timeout and at timeout the server is set to the action of logout. What happens is the cli is going locked after 1 hour. Works perfectly fine for that hour, but gets so hosed up that the only way to fix the cli is to blow away the config file and re-register the cli to the connector url. We do not have master passwords due to multi-factor auth.

We have been waiting patiently for over 2 years now. The problem persists. I upgrade the cli every month and it has never been addressed. We have managed to find an older version of the cli without this bug for intel Linux version 2023.4.0. This does not help everyone else or address the security issues of using code that old. Please give this some priority as it has been ongoing for over 2 YEARS!

Hi there, do you have an existing support ticket number I can follow up on?

I reached out to him and he is looking, but has not found the ticket. I’m figuring it was closed by now. I can reproduce the issue still to this day. If I hear back from him with that info, I will add that data.

No luck in finding it. I’m guessing it was closed for some reason even though the issue is still ongoing.

Is this your co-worker’s post?
