[BUG] Bitwarden Beta can't save Android App‘s password correctly

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Go to an Android App
  2. Enter the App’s account password
  3. Save the password by Bitwarden Beta
  4. Log out of the app and log back in
  5. The password you just saved is not displayed

Expected Result

Saved passwords can be associated with the app

Actual Result

As you can see in video,
https://youtube.com/shorts/kj3QwOGggT0?feature=share
passwords saved by Bitwarden Beta can’t be used by auto-fill, and I’ve found the reason why:

Bitwarden Beta is missing a string “androidapp://” when saving passwords, as shown in the picture,

the right side of the picture associates the app with the password, which is OK, but the left side of the picture has the Bitwarden Beta does not associate the app with the password when saving the password.

So passwords saved through Bitwarden Beta are not actually available, only in browsers, but not for Android Apps.

@chuwz Hey, a couple of questions and suggestions (I don’t have the Beta installed, so I can’t try it myself… or won’t try it, as the offical release is expected “within days”, I guess):

  1. Can’t you see the “androidapp://” string even when you click the settings icon for that URI?

  1. What app do you use (right side of your image), that you have a “Watchtower”? And are you self-hosted? Bitwarden or Vaultwarden?
  2. If it really is a bug, you should report it here: Issues · bitwarden/android · GitHub
  1. Yes, I can’t see the “androidapp://” string even when I click the settings icon for that URI.
  2. right app is KeyGuard, an alternative client for the Bitwarden) (GitHub - AChep/keyguard-app: Keyguard is an alternative client for the Bitwarden® platform, created to provide the best user experience possible.), And I use the official Bitwarden Beta, official server
  3. I had put it on Bitwarden-Android Github, Thanks for the heads up.
