Browser extention - multiple chrome profile problem

Thank you in advance for your support. I’ll try to be as clear as possible in explaining my problem, but please don’t hesitate to ask for more details.

I’m running a Vaultwarden instance on my NAS and I’m connecting to it through Tailscale. Everything is working fine both on my desktop (Chrome browser on Windows) and on mobile (Android).

I then installed the Bitwarden browser extension. Everything worked perfectly and all my accounts were accessible.

Finally, I opened a new Chrome profile and installed another Bitwarden extension. However, there is no way I can access my vault: a generic error message appears when I try to log in after entering the password.

Of course, the server URL is correct (and it works on the first Chrome profile). I’ve tried using three different Chrome profiles and reinstalling the extension multiple times.

Has anybody experienced the same problem?

It seems, you are using an unofficial server software, which is not supported by Bitwarden, as it is an independent product. From time to time, there will be compatibility issues between the official Bitwarden client apps (browser extension, mobile app, desktop app…) and an unofficial server product, when Bitwarden implements changes to its own server software and/or client apps. “…Bitwarden cannot guarantee that official clients will work perfectly with non-official servers.”

(Also due to this - and for other reasons - we recommend using the official Bitwarden server software.)

It is generally not possible for members of the Bitwarden community (users or developers) to help with such issues - and with issues of the unofficial server itself. Please seek support in their community spaces.
