Browser Extension - issues with passkey-2FA on Samsung phone

Hello!

I am unsure if this is an error that is specific to me, Samsung devices, or just my combination of usage, but I have been struggling to use Passkeys to authenticate to my browser plugin. Specifically as WebAuthn second factor when signing in to my browser plugin.

I have been able to use them for primary auth in the webvault, and the second factor used to work on my old phone which is what lead me to think that it may be related to the specific pairing of Samsung S25 Ultra with browser plugin.

When I attempt to use my passkey for secondary auth my phone only shows me the passkey providers, but when I click through to them it only opens them up and does not attempt to pass it through to the browser session.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to how to fix?

I thankfully did not delete authenticator as a login method or I would be SCREWED.

Please let me know if you have any ideas!

@Blitzzer24 Welcome to the forum!

I’m a little bit confused. You use a browser extension on Android instead of the mobile app?

I may have an idea… You can set up a “login-with-passkey”-passkey, but that can not be used as a 2FA-“passkey” for the Bitwarden account/vault then, as far as I know.

I hope not, as you should also have the 2FA recovery code on your emergency sheet, preventing you from being SCREWED at all! :wink:

PS: I made some additions to the title (it was “Browser Plugin” before).
