Browser extension autofill not working

I’m unable to use autofill on multiple websites. This is one of the examples:

This was working about a week ago, but is no longer working now.
Attempting to fill using the hotkey fails. There is no fill button on the field anymore and attempting to fill using the password manager gets this error:

checking the console provides this:

Running windows 10.
Opera GX v. 120.0.5543.204

Again this worked last week, but now suddenly it is not. Some sites it does still work on, but many do not.

This update is now causing autofill issues on a number of my sites. A day or two ago - could not see any issues whatsoever - with any of my sites.

Now today - Facebook will not fill. My bank suddenly does not fill (or suggest a password). Several others are now saying this:.

Fully expect to see more as I go thru my usual routines.

Something has changed here - again - and not necessarily for the good.

I can confirm that I am experiencing this issue across multiple Windows platforms and browsers (specifically MS Edge).

Another “me too” and glad you’re working on it as I really hate copy & paste :wink: Happening on iDrive RemotePC logon page Login to your RemotePC™ account if another example is needed.

Must be a difficult job with such an integrated browser extension. I bet Microsoft don’t let on about potential breaking changes around password managers. A continual moving target.

Oh, I wish I found this thread sooner. I’m new to making my own rules and configuring tighter filters with my adblocker, so I thought this was a skill issue on my end. I will say - it felt like disabling AdGuard entirely made this go away, but that could have been placebo.

I just updated to 2025.8.1 and appears to now be working (again). Thank you to Bitwarden dev ops for working to quickly solve the issue.

You are right to be averse to Copy & Paste, but please note that Bitwarden offers a more secure alternative when autofilling does not work: “Drag & Fill”.

2025.8.0 appears to be the only version available for opera GX at the moment, still, so seems like we need to wait for 2025.8.1.

Keeping this open until resolved.

Lots of methods in there that I didn’t know about! Will give drag & fill a go as well.

2025.8.1 update now on Oprea GX. Looks like that fixed it and it’s working again.
