Updates are normally automatic. If you plan to side-load the new version before it becomes available in the Apple App Store, then you can check the GitHub repository for availability of Desktop version 2025.1.0. Alternatively, see the Tip box here for instructions on how to get notifications by email.
Personally, I like the Fill button, but no matter, I am just another Bitwarden customer, and have no say in their decision-making or release schedule. And as already noted in one of the above comments, Bitwarden has no control over the app store embargo delays imposed by Mozilla, Google, Apple, etc.
Apologies, this forum is a bit awkward to reply and who it goes to. I like to turn off the fill button. They should have waited to roll out this change until all browsers support disabling this button. Firefox on the computer, if you click the name of the site, goes to settings instead of filling the credentials. Thinking about this, you need to go to the settings very rarely, but need to fill very frequently. Logic would suggest that the old way is better. I’ll stop griping.
Although you are clearly not alone in this way of using the browser extension, there are other users, who prefer to use completely different techniques for autofilling, without opening the browser extension window and clicking around in there.
It is not a matter of browser support. All browsers support the new feature, and the 2024.12.4 browser extension has been released for all major browsers (except, perhaps, Safari, which is a special case). The only hold-up for Firefox is that the Mozilla Foundation has not yet issued their stamp of approval on version 20204.12.4 and made it available in the Firefox add-ons store; Mozilla’s approval process seems to be on the slow side compared to other app store approvals. Unfortunately, Mozilla has also decided to forbid users from sideloading Firefox extensions that have not yet been approved. Therefore, if you wish to have access to the latest greatest version of any browser extension, you may want to consider using a different browser.
