"Blocked Domains" not available when self-hosting with unofficial server software

I wanted to chime in here, since searching for this problem brought me to this thread.

I absolutely agree, when I blacklist a site, I do not want any autofill or other functionality to auto populate. If I right click on a field and navigate to the bitwarden options, great, but nothing should appear automatically. In my case, Bitwarden makes logging into Proxmox a really pain in the butt.,

Thanks!

@lordratner Welcome to the forum! This is an old thread, and much has changed in the Bitwarden UI and functionality since April 2024.

Try going to Settings > Autofill, scrolling down to the bottom, and clicking “Blocked Domains”:

Interesting. I don’t have that option. I’m running Vaultwarden self hosted, and looking at the bitwarden about page it looks like Server Version 2024.2.0, which I’m assuming is older than the autofill update we’re discussing?

Vaultwarden is not a Bitwarden product, and it is not uncommon for there to be incompatibility issues between that server software and the official Bitwarden client apps. For further support, you’d need to turn to the Vaultwarden developers or user community for help.

Incompatibility I understand, but is there any reason why the setting would be missing entirely? It’s completely absent, and the Vaultwarden team is unaware of any reason a bitwarden extension would modify itself based on the underlying server. For reference, I do have the block autofill option on the android app using the same vaultwarden server

I appreciate the help

That is not true. There was recently an issue where the Bitwarden client apps had missing “Delete” (trashcan) icons for Vaultwarden users:

You should open your own issue on their Githup repo, if you want assistance with your problem.
