I have already done those things. There’s definitely something inconsistent going on with the autofill, I just don’t know what it is. Sometimes it just doesn’t work on a site…then you come back an hourater and it works.
Alright thanks. I’ll keep an eye on this. It’s not yet available on brave.
Okay, after playing around with it for a week or two, it seems the login fill always fails on the first form when you log into bitwarden (I use fingerprint). If I then close and reopen the page after logging in, it will work. (Refreshing the page does not)
@Xicor That (again?) sounds like an “older” bug that should be resolved now – on which version of the Android mobile app are you right now?
Android 16
BP2A.250805.005
Bitwarden Version: 2025.9.0 (20692)
Okay, on that version that particular bug I mentioned now should be is fixed. ![]()
dunno. I run into all bugs all the time.
I will say my bug is different from the one you posted. The selection shows up fine. I’m able to press the logins, it just doesn’t fill anything. It doesn’t show the entries on the keyboard after either unless I reload the page. And even the entries on the keyboard don’t fill the site properly unless I close the page and reopen it.
My problem is similar to yours, except that it shows the matching entry above the keyboard, but selecting it doesn’t fill the login form. I’ve tried setting and re-setting the auto-fill service as was suggested before but this only works for a short time and then it stops working again. Super frustrating!
Same problem, login selections come up but they won’t fill.
Same for me with latest Chrome on latest Android.
Floating Bitwarden option appears on username field but on switching to Bitwarden to choose the account info the autofill doesn’t happen. On occasion, if I close Chrome and retry it works.
Just received an update for Bitwarden on Android and can report that the same issue exists.
More detail:
-
I click on the username field in a website and choose the floating Bitwarden icon. It reports that the ‘Vault is Locked’
-
I click on the icon, unlock Bitwarden which presents me with correct account options for the website. I choose the account I want to use
-
I’m returned to the website and see that the username\password entries are blank
On some occasions I try again and Bitwarden again informs me that the ‘Vault is locked’. On other occasions I reload Chrome and try again - all is OK.
This issue only appeared a few weeks back. Before this it was faultless.
@SPBonzo Welcome to the forum!
Did you already check with Important Android Autofill Updates ? There is a current Chrome/Chromium bug - and you might profit from setting that flag on Chrome Beta [Edit: that flag is now available on Chrome 141 “stable”], as described there.
@Nail1684 - the toggling of the Autofill Services setting seems to have done the trick despite me thinking I’d tried that before. Many thanks for your help.
