Lately, Bitwarden won’t allow me to unlock my vault to use the passwords inside, when I sign onto an online site, saying my master password is inaccurate, though it will allow me to sign in using that same master password and access my vault online. It also won’t allow me to use that password to access your forum. How can it work in one place and not all places?
The forum account is completely separate from the Bitwarden vault. You absolutely should use a forum password that is different from your Bitwarden master password, and if that’s what you did when you registered the accounts, then that would explain why the master password does not work on the forum.
When it comes to issues you’ve faced when trying to unlock your vault, is the unlock prompt asking you to input a master password, or a PIN? It would be helpful if you could post a screenshot of the unlock screen (but please make sure that you redact your email address from the screenshot before posting it).
I solved the problem by deleting the Bitwarden extension, closing Firefox and then opening up Firefox. Just deleting the extension without closing out Firefox didn’t work. All is fine now. Thanks.
