Bitwarden window stuck loading indefinitely when autompleting after unlocking with pin

I have to force stop the application and open it manually and search. The Auto complete feature only works correctly when bitwarden is already unlocked.

Cloud or self-hosted?: cloud
Device Type: Pixel 8 pro
OS and version: android 14
Bitwarden version: 2024.8.0 (18985)

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Open a login page in a browser
  2. Click on the login field
  3. Click on the Auto complete button
  4. Unlock with pin
  5. Bitwarden window is stuck loading indefinitely

I am having similar issue after update to 2024.8.0.

I have the same issue

Same issue for me on my Pixel 8 Pro with PIN or biometrics unlocking. A few others have reported similar issues.

Bitwarden support directed me to a beta version of 2024.8.0, I am having the same issue with that version.

I have been working with Bitwarden support on this and they now tell me, “This is a defect in the new Bitwarden app and will be fixed within the next release.”

I clean installed the latest version 2024.8.1 (19099) and the app still hangs after unlocking.

Do we have an update about when the fix will be available ? This is broken 50% of the time. I’m surprised this doesn’t have more attention from the developers.

In this thread we are speaking of the Bitwarden new native mobile app, which is still BETA (latest version 2024.8.1 (19099) is still marked as pre-release/Beta). I guess the developers are working heavily for the expected release/“general availability” in about 3 weeks, possibly.

(Until then it is possible for everyone, who has too much problems with the Beta, to revert to the latest non-native mobile app (Android), version 2024.7.1)

The release app is even less stable than the beta because it takes ages to unlock the vault, that’s why I’m using the beta (as advised by the support), which, in this case, is broken half of the time :melting_face:
Thanks for the information, I hope a fix will be available pretty soon, it would be a hassle to stop using bitwarden

Interesting! Did you make a bug report in GitHub then? Or is there an open bug report which matches your problem?

The are already countless issues about slow unlocking in the old app. The new native app is much faster. Given this will be the new normal this issue will soon be over.

For the loading issue in the beta app, the support redirected me to this forum, so…

Looks like there is a GitHub bug report for this issue. Hopefully it gets fixed in the next release.
