Hi community,
my self-hosted Bitwarden connected to an edge browser extension start blocking the autocompletion of edge for fields like address etc.
I did change anything in Bitwarden, except of that the Autofill in BW does not open the autofill box on focus the field itself rather than on clicking the BW Icon.
If I take a look to the settings in Edge they are now all managed by BW.
Tuning off BW extension is giving me the edge suggestions back.
@Stephan_M Welcome to the forum!
When you make this type of change, there is usually a prompt to ask if you want to “make Bitwarden your default password manager”. This makes Bitwarden take over the browser’s autofill functions for passwords, as well as cards and identities.
The setting “Make Bitwarden your default password manager” can be disabled in the Bitwarden browser extension (under Settings > Autofill), but some users have found that disabling this option does not always release Bitwarden’s hold on the browser’s autofill settings. A more definitive solution is to uninstall the Bitwarden browser extension, then go to edge://wallet/settings
to enable autofilling of payments, personal information, etc., while ensuring that you have disabled all browser functions for saving and autofilling of passwords.
After you have done this, reinstall the Bitwarden browser extension, and then make sure to always click Ignore instead of Make default if you see any prompt that asks “Make Bitwarden your default password manager?” (e.g., when you make adjustments to your autofill settings).
