Hey,
I’m running into an issue where Bitwarden’s “save password?” notification doesn’t show up when logging into a new site, and the inline Bitwarden icon doesn’t appear in login fields on sites where I already have saved logins. Vault is unlocked and everything looks normal on the extension’s end.
Setup:
- Browser: Brave 1.91.172 (Chromium 149.0.7827.115, arm64)
- OS: macOS 26.5.1 (25F80), MacBook Air M2
- Bitwarden extension: 2026.5.1
Troubleshooting tried so far (none fixed it):
- turned off Brave’s built-in password manager (save passwords + auto sign-in)
- set Bitwarden’s site access to “on all sites”
- lowered Brave Shields to standard
- reset all brave://flags to default
- reinstalled the extension fresh
- tested in a brand new Brave profile
- cleared cache/site data
- confirmed all extension permissions are granted
I tested the exact same Bitwarden version in Chrome on the same Mac and it works perfectly there - notification and inline icons both show up as expected. So it seems like something specific to how Brave handles the extension’s content scripts or notification UI.
Has anyone seen this before with a recent Brave version? Any known fix or workaround would help a lot. Happy to share screenshots or logs if needed.
