I had a very short password (shorter than 8 digits) to enter my bitwarden vault. From today it doesn’t let me in, nd just tells me that the password is too short. I am 100% sure that my ‘short code’ is correct. Anyone else with such issue?

How long ago did you first register for your Bitwarden account? Was it before August 3, 2022?
When you say “enter”, it is important to distinguish whether you were previously using this “short code” to unlock your vault, or to log in to your account.
Do you have any Bitwarden apps or browser extensions on any computer or other device where you are still logged in to your Bitwarden account (i.e., the authentication prompt has an “Unlock” button instead of a “Log in” button)? If you are going to check for this possibility, it is highly recommended to disconnect the device from the internet before opening the app or browser where you are going to check the login status of your Bitwarden account.

Did you already try to login to the web vault?
You chose the tag server:self-hosted so if that detail is correct, you would have to visit the web vault of your self-hosted Bitwarden server. (and it might be helpful, to also reveal some details about your BW server, BTW)
In case you are not self-hosting, you can log in to the web vault by either https://vault.bitwarden.com (US server region) or https://vault.bitwarden.eu (EU server region).
If it was an older 8 digit master password, the web vault might offer you setting up a new master password (with a 12-character minimum now).
I doubt it, because password length checks are being done client-side before contacting the server to attempt authentication. If we take OP’s claims at face value, then their only options would be to downgrade their server to a pre-2022.8.0 version, or to work with customer support to resolve the issue. However, I believe there may be alternative explanations, which is why I’ve engaged with OP to dig a little deeper before offering advice.
