Agreed. Having bitwarden on fdroid would be great for people trying to stay away form Google’s control.

You mean Bitwarden is already on fdroid?

The whole point of F-Droid is that the apps are independently built.
Its the same as apk downloads if you make the repo.
The worst interpretation would be its openwashing.

Why does Bitwarden not try to publish to official Fdroid?
