Bitwarden Extension Posted eBay Search?

Had an odd (and hopefully not too concerning) issue happen just now.

I updated a password (at the top of the browser in the pop-up message) and when I checked the details in the vault…the data from recent input (from last night) into the eBay search bar was populated instead of the new password.

What in the world could cause this? An issue with the clipboard? I didn’t cut and paste my eBay search so I don’t think that’s related…but I can’t figure it out.

It’s also causing anxiety that my AV happened to be frozen at that moment and I had to reinstall it. I hope that’s not related but I’m doing a full scan now after a reinstall.

Any insight would be sincerely appreciated as to what could possibly cause this. At the moment, I’m worried that my Bitwarden extension has been compromised.

I have no insight into this incident, other than my general impression (from reading comments in the forum and on Reddit) that the “Save new logins” feature (which I don’t personally use) does not always work properly.

Based on my gut feeling, I would rate the probability that this being a sign of a compromised browser extension to be very low.

Sorry I can’t provide more definitive information. I’ve only responded here based on your request in an unrelated thread.
