Bitwarden does not work on my wifi

I have a windows PC. bitwarden desktop software worked just fine on my PC which is connected to my router. I have a local internet connection. also the browser app worked fine. Now since a few days all of a sudden the desktop software prevented my from logging in, the browser app logged in but did not save any new entries and the vault.bitwarden website just stopped loading all together. on my android phone when I connected to the home wifi which is also connected to my PC, new entries were not being saved. there was an error message which read “Exception message: connection faliure”. But bitwarden works just fine on my mobile internet, I can save new entries and access the old ones. I dont know what’s causing this to happen. My internet is working just fine. I am able to load all other websites.

Hello @anuj,

Bitwarden is working on mobile data, but none of the apps are functioning on your Wi-Fi network. You are most likely experiencing connection issues specifically related to Bitwarden. The Bitwarden cloud infrastructure sometimes blocks IP addresses that are deemed suspicious.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve or diagnose the problem:

  1. Check https://www.whatismyip.com/ to see if your IPv6 is enabled. Look at the IPv6 line to see if you have an IPv6 address. Also, note your public IPv4 address.
  2. Reboot your router. Check the link above again to see if your IPv4 address changes. Then, check the web app, desktop app, and mobile app to see if the issues persist.
  3. If step 2 doesn’t work, try using a VPN on your computer (if available) and see if the web app and desktop app work.
  4. If both steps 2 and 3 don’t work, contact Bitwarden’s support at:
