I was trying to logging into Bitwarden Windows app, but Bitwarden stated that my login or password are incorrect, however on browser extension and mobile app they fit.
I was exactly writing login into browser extension login field and next copying it to desktop app and then the same step for password.
And I was logged in extension but app returned error.
What the hell?
I was also trying to use authentication on another device and noticed, that “unique account ID” is different from that one on mobile and briwser, despite using the same email as login. In fact for desktop app account ID changed each time I reopen it.
The most common solution for login problem is to make sure you select the same server at the bottom of each login page. It should either be bitwarden.com or bitwarden.eu; they are not interchangeable.
If you are talking about the fingerprint phrase shown when you use “Login with device,” please notice that this will be different each time you do this, and this doesn’t match your account fingerprint phrase. The idea is to match the fingerprint phrase, unique to each “Login with device”, on the approval device to make sure you are responding to the right request.
You account fingerprint phrase is unique for your account and should be the same on all clients, but you generally wouldn’t see it unless you are using organization or are specifically looking for it. After some ~2 years on Bitwarden, this is the first time I ever look up my account fingerprint phrase.
