Bitwarden Android App - Google Password Manager won't switch off

Hello All,

New User here. Struggling to turn off Google Password Manager on my Honor mobile phone. I’ve been into the Google settings and turned off ‘Offer to save passwords’ and also ‘Auto sign-in’ and have enabled Bitwarden as my default password manager. But, when logging into sites / apps on my mobile, Google Password Manager still pops up (Bitwarden works fine on my PC.)

Any ideas how I can get around this?

Many thanks.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I don’t know what’s wrong, but here are some suggestions that you might be able to check:

  1. There’s a specific troubleshooting instruction for Honor phone:
  1. Otherwise, the general instructions to set up Android are here:
  1. If the above doesn’t help, I would try turning on ALL the Settings → Auto-fill, Auto-fill section, and follow the turning-off-battery optimization suggestions in
  1. The inline-autofill/overlay needs an IME that supports it. If the above don’t work, see if you are using Gboard (for the keyboard); if not, try if it would solve the problems.
