Bitwarden admin panel shows cryptic version number

Hi

I had this “issue” multiple times now on multiple instances and in multiple versions.

I never had any problems with the instance all is working fine but why is there this cryptic Number behind the Version (maybe a docker tag or immage id?). It just bothers me that it says I’m not on the latest version.

I’m on the latest version:

And it also shows the version on the login page.

Is there something I can do about it?

@dwbit Perhaps the warning icon () should not be shown when the Web Vault version includes the Commit ID; I believe the intent is for this warning icon to be displayed only if the version number (e.g., 2026.12.2) does not match the most recent release — i.e., there seems to be a bug in the logic.
