I installed the update to 2025.5 for MacOS and iOS. Now TouchID on MacOS is not working anymore, and “trusted devices login” (not sure about the exact English wording) results in an error on the “trusted” device. It is not the first time that - after an update - such problems with the logIn occur (e.g. TouchID is not working anymore).
Is Bitwarden not testing well enough their own apps before releasing it?
Now I start to wonder: If there are such bugs in the frontend - which “hidden-for-the-user”-bugs are in the backend? We are talking about a Password manager, and not a simple game or a text editor. Quality for such an important app, handling very personal and private data, is something different.
I also wonder if the developers also read and learn about what is discussed here in this forum. My impression is that many users give valuable feedback, voting for needed features, reporting bugs … but in the end, for bugs we have to create a ticket on the Bitwarden homepage. Requests with many votes are still ignored, for many years. The moderators here, e.g. @Nail1684 or @grb, are doing a great job, but it seems that their job is to keep the forum clean, sorting new requests, and offering help and solutions. But there is no real (let us say - visible) connection to the Bitwarden development.
I am sorry, but at the moment, I am very disappointed with Bitwarden. And my “trust” in the app is getting less after such mistakes/bugs (not for the first time).
Hey there, it works for me after updating, but if the issue persists after reinstalling and re-enabling biometrics, don’t hesitate to contact support, so they can look further into the issue you’re experiencing: Help Center | Bitwarden
@tjh : As far as I know there is no workaround. Very annoying this bug. In which language does the OS and Bitwarden run?
But still, I recommend to contact the support and to create a ticket about this bug.
