Bitwarden 2025.11.1 Stopped working and won't load on windows

I started my PC today and found that Bitwarden will not load properly.

I’ve been using it for years now, and the web addin still works and connects to my data, but if I run the windows version, which was updated to 2025.11.1 on the 18th and continued working after that, I get northing.

If I open task manager I can see that it started 3 bitwarden background processes, but the bitwarden app never opens, nor does it appear in the taskbar etc.

If I terminate them and try again, I get the same thing. If I try running bitwarden again while the three bitwarden processes are still running I get a bitwarden window, with no content and no options to do anything.

When I close that window, the app and the processes terminate.

I tried restarting, I tried reinstalling 2025.11.1 but still nothing. I tried on my windows laptop and that worked fine.

Any ideas??

A fix is on the way.

@229Mick : Do you use an external display and sometimes not?

Here: At home I use an external display (Bitwaren shown on this second one). These days I traveled, using the internal display only, and then this problem came up. Back at home, Bitwaren was back -on the external display.

FYI Got the 2025.11.2 update and that appears to have fixed it.

The interesting thing is, that a few people from/in the linked GitHub issue wrote there in the meantime, that they were using external displays…

Ha, is desktop app 2025.11.2 supposed to also/explicitly resolve those “external displays” issues? :thinking:
