Biometrics Failed On Android App

Version 2025.8.1 (20670) running on Android 15

Updated a few minutes ago. As often is the case I have to log back into the app using the PIN. On going to settings I then activate unlock with biometrics and verify with a finger print. When I next go in, as expected it asks for finger print. The phone confirms its OK with a green tick, but I get the error message “Biometrics Failed” Log in with your Master Password or PIN then re-enable biometrics login in Settings”. So basically I’m going round in circles.

The same finger print works fine with unlocking my phone and opening other apps like online banking. This is a technical fault with the Bitwarden Android app.

Hey there, if you’re seeing the biometrics working some times and not others, and the issue persists after reinstalling Bitwarden and clearing the cache, please contact support using the form in the right sidebar at: Help Center | Bitwarden so they can look further into the issue.

What device are you using?

Thank you. I have followed this and it has worked. The phone is a Motorola g85.
