Big problems with the installation of Bitwarden selfhost in Docker

Hello everyone,
I really hope that someone here can help me. I have had bitwarden selfhost installed in Docker on a NAS server for a long time. I would now like to switch to another server, a virtual machine. I am installing exactly according to these instructions.
https://bitwarden.com/help/install-on-premise-linux/
In the end, however, the containers bitwarden-admin, bitwarden-sso and bitwarden-mssql are “unhealthy”.
I just don’t know why. The same procedure is successful on the NAS. I don’t get any errors during the installation script.

Here are the logs from this three containers. I viewed and copied the logs from Porainer.

There are messages such as Directory not found or permission denied or no connection to SQL Server, but unfortunately I have no idea about the whole thing. I really hope that someone can help me. I would be very grateful…

Hi Jake,

Thank you very much for your message. I didn’t know whether to ask on Github or here but a support ticket is of course great. I hope I will be helped quickly. I need to be off the NAS soon with my installation. Since I don’t think I can migrate the existing installation, I just wanted to completely reinstall it.
Best regards…

P.S. Additional question. Do you know until when bitwarden-unified is no longer a beta? I think the concept would suit me better.

Was the support team able to assist you?

In regards to unified, we’re working on an ETA for general availability, and I’ve made a note to update you here, as more information becomes available.

Yes, we found out that it doesn’t seem to work with my Linux, archlinux. With Ubuntu 22.04 as host system everything works as expected.
Because it is no problem for me to switch to Ubuntu in this case, I have now done so.

Thank you for unified. I am very interested and have already asked support when it will no longer be beta. I very much hope that this will happen soon.

Hello @jchristensen
Any updates in this case? Today I update my Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04.1 and I have big problems again…
The log directory in /opt/bitwarden/bwdata/logs/mssql is always full… I constantly expand the disk but it fills up again immediately. I have no idea what to do. The installation no longer works. I only have the data available in my clients. Can you help me with what exactly I need to do?

As this is a new issue that you’re reporting, please submit a new support request using the contact form on the right of this page: Help Center | Bitwarden and a member of the team will be able to assist.
