Autosave popups: bring back the "never save" button

It would be nice to have a “never save” button (pretty sure we had it before)

i often use bitwarden on my work computer for my work related passwords…but my work also has a password management system I copy and paste passwords from and to all the time…constantly getting bombarded by bitwarden for passwords to save…but nothing to click to ignore/block/never save passwords

There is a do not offer to save passwords option on settings >> notifications iirc. It is per device so you could have it off on your work pc and on on your home pc.

I really don’t know why you would remove a highly practical feature and replace is with most tedious interface you could think of …

i just want to be able to tell bitwarden never to safe specific passwords. the new way is just very annoying - especially for android apps … i really don’t what the app-name is … i guess it hat to be equivalent with the foldername in the android in the filesystem, which of course i know by heart … also i can only guess, because there is no example of easily available documentation.

i am experienced user, but it took me hours to setup bit warden the way i wanted. i feel it is very well engineered, but the user interface is far from being intuitive. figuring out how to delete all keys, looking for the purge vault button took ages.

the lack of a documentation or a tutorial, the user interface and the missing of crucial features (never safe, clear duplicates) really spoils an otherwise great product.

@g0.w3st Welcome to the forum!

I won’t comment on the UI or on this feature request, but I want to correct the following misunderstanding:

Bitwarden has extensive documentation in its Help Center:

The Help Center also includes tutorials in the form of short videos on various topics:

Paradoxically, the easiest way to learn an app name is to save the password. The name you need then shows up in the URL field. Alternatively, you can retrieve it from the app store, as described in Bitwarden’s help documentation.

A few other pages that cover your stumbling blocks:

As for “never safe”, don’t forget about the second risk to your vault, locking yourself out. This can be mitigated with an emergency sheet and occasional backups.

To proactively keep things clear, this is a community forum that is only lightly monitored by Bitwarden employees. neither @grb, @Nail1684 nor I are Bitwarden employees. We are customers, just like you.

… just for reference, this is how it once looked like (screenshot from Jan 2024 – or before):

PS: I also added “Autosave popups:” to the title.
