Autofill not working on Android 16

Hi There,

My autofill stopped working a few weeks/months ago on my Pixel. Neither in apps, nor in the browser (Brave/Firefox). I’ve seen the Reddit and community posts that it’s because of Android, and a fix is on the way but so far nothing. I deleted and reinstalled it, but it hasn’t worked. My settings haven’t changed, it came out of nowhere.

The app has been been updated lately, and I expected that it would be fixed, but nothing yet.

Has anybody found out anything more?

I would suggest filing a bug report for your problem, either as a separate bug or by augmenting the above bug with details specific to you, after you have walked through the autofill setup as if you have just installed Bitwarden for the first time:

When Android 15 came out, there were some Android 15-specific problems that took a while to fix. This may repeat with major Android releases. With major releases every 6 months, Android users may experience this kind of disruption multiple times a year. You may need to plan accordingly.

My personal short summary of the current situation: I think, the mobile browsers also must have changed something (regarding autofill), therefore the BW mobile app is getting new options (see e.g. this post) but that doesn’t seem to always “help” for now (see e.g. this post).

Then, checking your keyboard settings can be necessary. (see e.g. this post).

@dwbit posted a good overview recently (including a video): Recreate the old "Pop-up box" to enable android work profile auto-fill - #4 by dwbit (but of course, the best overview can’t fix bugs if they’re there at the moment)

Thank you a lot! Unfortunately, the keyboard settings also didn’t help. I wanted to open an issue on GitHub, but I don’t even find Android under the optional platforms.
