Autofill Keyboard Shortcut Stopped Working [Dia Browser]

I’ve been using Bitwarden for a while and just this week or last the keyboard shortcut for filling in passwords (⇧⌘L) stopped working. I’m on a Mac and using Dia browser.

I tried …

  • changing the keyboard shortcut to something new and unused and that didn’t fix it
  • uninstalling and reinstalling the extension and that didn’t fix it
  • using another keyboard shortcut function to open the extension (⇧⌘Y) and that works just fine

FYI

  • I don’t have Edge installed but i read that sometime Edge uses that same keyboard shortcut and could cause an issue
  • I do have bitwarden mac app installed but i’m not signed into it
  • I do have bitwarden also installed on Arc and the keyboard extension works great.
  • I noticed that even when I’m logged out and i use the keyboard extension, the app doesn’t prompt me to login (in my Arc browser, on this same Mac, using the keyboard shortcut to autofill will trigger the extension to ask me to login)
  • When i click on a password entry field, I do get the bitwarden popup showing me my accounts. This is great for picking an account/password (and i think it indicates the extension is generally working great) but I’d prefer to use the keyboard shortcut.

I’m not sure what else to try.

Unfortunately, I have no advice for you (other than to contact Customer Support), but I’m wondering if what you’re experiencing is related to the following Github issue:

Unfortunately, the issue flagged in github was closed as not being reproduceable.
And, while i did reach out to Support, they said on July 9 2025

We are aware of the issue and our Engineering team is currently investigating it

But it’s Oct 12 and it still doesn’t work. It’s very frustrating since the keyboard shortcut is the best way to get the passwords autofilled, IMHO.
