Auto fill on Chromebook

Autofill on a Chromebook doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve made sure it’s turned on in BW Settings. It works on all my other devices (laptop, phone). I thought it used to work, but now… nada.

I can copy & paste, just not autofill. Suggestions?

Is the Bitwarden extension getting any URL matches (as evidenced by the number shown on the icon)?

Which of the half-dozen autofill methods are you trying to use? Do any of the other autofill methods work? Do you get any error message when you try to autofill from the browser extension pop-up window (e.g., by clicking the Fill button)?

P.S. I changed your “app:” tag from “app:all” to “app:browser”, since this is about the browser extension. BTW, it would help if you could share which version you have installed.

BitWarden (BW) QA is lacking. Have had great difficulty in login using SSO (Business) and when I finally do login, Autofill does not work and no matter what URL is open to login to, no login suggestions occur. Even when I open BW (Desktop, Web or Extension) and I select Autofill, it never fills anything in. I have to copy and paste individually the username and password. BW does show the number of Autofill Suggestions that it reads for the site but there appears to be a disconnect when it is supposed to fill the info. Very frustrating and poor QA on your part.

In your case, the issue may lie with your system, since the issue you are describing is not widespread.

This statement is contradicted by your screenshot, which shows two autofill suggestions.

This is in part because there is no autofill feature for the Web Vault or Desktop app — autofill functionality is exclusive to the browser extensions and mobile apps.

Until the cause of your issue has been established, it may be premature to cast blame on Bitwarden. Regardless, this is a community forum for Bitwarden users, so by posting here, you are not addressing Bitwarden, you are addressing its customers and other users (who ceratinly bear no blame for any QA issues).

Yep, shows the suggestions but does not populate to the login page. When I select Fill, it does not fill the username nor password fields

The Edge Extension was also used and auto fill was not working with that either when previously it was. It was working upto last week. Now, fails to do anything.

I’m going to attribute this to user error. Upon further digging into the Chrome BW extension, Google had somehow become the default PW manager, instead of BW. Once I changed it back, everything worked. I made the mistake of double checking the stand-alone app, instead of the extension, to make sure all the settings were correct.

@Vince.Gerretz If your problem is not fixed by the solution posted by @astrohip above, then your issue is unrelated to this thread, and you should start your own forum topic. However, before doing so, it may be a good idea to give Bitwarden’s Support Team an opportunity to investigate the matter (and hopefully fix the issue for you).
