Auto-fill not working

I recently installed Bitwarden on my Windows 11 laptop, including both the browser extension and the desktop application.

Auto-fill is not working on any websites. I’ve logged into around a dozen different sites so far, but none of them have shown any Bitwarden suggestions from the browser extension, even though Bitwarden is unlocked.

The only site where Bitwarden suggests login details is this community forum login. Ironically, it suggests my Bitwarden master password instead of the correct login credentials for the forum.

I’m using Brave Browser, which Bitwarden detects as Chrome. I use the same browser and Bitwarden browser extension on my desktop PC without any issues, where auto-fill works correctly.

In addition, when I click Enable biometrics, a message appears asking me to confirm the action in the desktop application. However, nothing appears in the desktop app, despite it being open and unlocked.

Has anyone encountered this before, or are there any settings I should check?

On the extension properties (rigth-click, select manage-extension), check that it has the needed permissions. Here is what mine look like in chrome:

@KennyStetson Welcome to the forum!

There is a current Brave bug which affects the inline autofill menu of the browser extension – see here: Inline autofill on Brave

What are your BW desktop app and browser extension versions? And can you unlock the desktop app with Windows Hello? (if not, that has to be set up first to be able to unlock the browser extensions)

Check your set up also with these two Help Site sections:

Thanks for that.

I managed to fix the second issue and enable biometrics login when using the extension. I had to install the non-windows store desktop version of the app and then enable “Allow browser integration” in the desktop app settings.

With regards to the first issue, I guess I’ll have to wait for a bug fix.
