Audible sound notifications/alerts on success or failure of UI actions

Would be VERY nice if there was an audible notification when a copy (password, username, etc) was successful. Think this is already implemented in the desktop version. Would be nice in Android version.

@dalewebb1 Welcome to the forum!

I think that the idea of using sound feedback (as an optional setting) is an interesting one, and one that I don’t think has been previously proposed as a feature request. Bitwarden currently does not do this, not even in the Desktop app.

I would suggest broadening this feature request to include sound feedback for different types of events (e.g., successful copy, failed autofill, manual sync completed, etc.), or at least a general “success” and “failure” sound for key user actions. Of course, it would be best if the user was able to configure what sounds are played for what events, but at a minimum, there should be an option to enable or disable sounds altogether.

If you agree with such a broadened scope for the feature request, please let me know, and I can modify the topic title for you.

Now, as a side note, when it comes to copying passwords, please note that you should try to avoid doing so whenever possible. Copying a password or other secret data into the clipboard makes you vulnerable to a data leak. The preferred (secure) methods for transferring vault data into a login form is autofilling (see instructions for Android, iOS, or browser extensions).

I would WELCOME such expansion. Sounds very helpful too me.

I have revised the title to make the scope broader (new title: “Audible sound notifications/alerts on success or failure of UI actions”; original title: “Audible notification when copy is successful”), and I changed the “app:” tag from “app:mobile” to “app:all”.

The sound of a revolving key in a lock would be nice for passkey login (or maybe even for password autofill). :wink:

Can’t stress enough how much this feature (if developed) needs to be optional…    :hear_no_evil_monkey:

Luckily it’s not in the title. :rofl:

I sacrificed that detail in the name of brevity…

Title → Short not always good. :winking_face_with_tongue:
