Annoying Bitwarden popup ad when starting PC

After updating my Bitwarden MS Edge extension I’m now getting an obnoxious Bitwarden popup ad whenever I startup my computer (Windows 11).

How can I prevent this ad from popping up every time I start my computer?

@goatrope Welcome to the forum!

I have never seen anything like this. Can you look in your taskbar or task manager to determine what app/process is displaying this “ad”? It looks like some kind of browser, but I’m not recognizing it.

Also, FYI, it is not an advertisement — this is simply the contents of the https://bitwarden.com/ website. If I had to guess, you have a web browser that is configured to open to the last page visited (or perhaps you accidentally set the Bitwarden website as your browser homepage), and is also configured to launch on startup. Both of those settings should be reversible, using the browser settings.

You are right @grb. The ‘auto-start on device login’ feature had been selected on that page, although I don’t know how.

Here’s what I did to fix:

  1. Click elipse (…) at top right corner of popup, then choose ‘App settings’ from context menu.

  2. Uncheck the ‘auto-start on device login’ feature

Close out of settings and restart computer. Viola! no popup

Thanks for the tip!
