Android Play store update and missing vault

I updated to the latest version of the app via the Play store and now both of my two phones show an empty vault. Also if I log on to Bitwarden’s website via the web then the vault shows empty all the time and no folders or anything else open.
Then again when I opened the program in Windows then there my vault and all my data shows up, luckily for me. I already made a copy of them.
Has anyone else had similar problems?

Yes, after updating the app to version 2024.11.6 on my mobile (Android 14) I have a working safe. Not even syncing helps. On the web the safe is fine though. Quite a foul and very annoying critical error. After 10+ years this is the biggest inconvenience and a hit to credibility.

@DoggyStar Hi!

Do you mean vault.bitwarden.com / vault.bitwarden.eu (= “cloud”)? Or are you self-hosting (as your tag says)?

If you are self-hosting: is your server updated with the latest server version? (I guess some 2024.11.x)

If your web vault is “empty” and you are not self-hosting, you should contact Bitwarden support, as backup data is only stored for 7 days at Bitwarden - and if there was some corruption with your vault, support may be able to detect and restore that.

Apart from that, for your mobile app you could try to log out and delete the app data - and then try to log in again.

PS: Normally you should stay logged in in your Bitwarden Windows app… but as you already made a copy of your data, that may be not that important. Just make sure you made a backup of everything, as some things are not included in exports:

@Sector_1 Hi!

??

You should try to log out on your mobile app, delete the app data and after that try to log in again.

PS: Are you also self-hosting, like (possibly) OP? - If yes, you should update your server version…

Same thing happened to me. I simply logged out, deleted app data, and signed back in. Works now. Please do confirm with other places like Extensions, different devices to be sure your Vault is not affected.

I didn’t mean that I use Bitwarden for self-hosting. When I created this post for some reason I had to choose two different tags and one was mobile app and the other one I was allowed to choose was self-hosting. It could be that something went wrong when I made the first post.
Anyway, the vault came back by itself after a few hours, maybe there was some synchronization delay. However, now everything seems to be working again.

There was some kind of synchronization delay. Within a few hours all my vault data had come back to both my different phones. Now everything seems to be working normally again.

Good to hear that everything is okay for you now.

And I changed the tag to “cloud-default” then.
