Still a really really annoying issue
@planetwilson good news is they announced they’ve made progress on a ground up rewrite of the app (switching from a cross platform solution to a fully native one) that should fix this and several other issues!

Nope. Just downloaded the beta. It’s still using the exact same face unlock flow requiring confirm. Absolutely incredible work Bitwarden team.
I agree. They do good work. Especially like their focus on security. that is important in a password manager.
This is still happening on Bitwarden Beta, any chance this will be considered?
The change is quite easy to implement and @et657684 also linked the developer documentation.
I can see the BiometricsManager implementation here.
I can implement this myself as I have some free time on my hands, but I’m not sure if it’s something that is considered by the Bitwarden team.
Please please please add this!
Seems most Android apps don’t include this option, the unnecessary click makes the whole process less seamless.
Introducing this would be a much better user experience
It may be because the official documentation recommends against it when security is a concern (banking, password manager, payment, etc.):
Disabling this option is generally only appropriate for frequent, low-value transactions, such as re-authenticating for a previously authorized application.
and if developers don’t explicitly set this option, it defaults to requiring the confirmation.
It could be argued that since you need to enter you master password to authenticate into the app, it is a case of re-authenticating.
It definitely isn’t a low-value transaction considering the level of access it provides though.
It’s a bit silly to require that extra tap when I have already unlocked my phone with face unlock though. Having to tap a button definitely degrades the user experience.
I would love for bypassing the confirmation to be a setting in the app.
Just installed the latest beta from Bitwarden (Nov 4th) on my Pixel 8, and I no longer have to hit okay after face unlock!
