Android Automotive version

Just bought a car with android automotive on it. Enter all the passwords for apps has been difficult and also insecure because the screen of the car is in the middle and everyone in the car can see how you type your password. It would be awesome have an android automotive version. It must be similar to tablet one, i don’t know the limitation on integration with auto fill and other stuff.

Best regards.

@robemuno Welcome to the forum!

Please forgive my ignorance, as I don’t know “Android Automotive” well enough, but here it states, that Android Automotive supports (all?) Android apps already:

That sounds like it should already be possible, to use the current Android mobile app…?!

Only some Android apps are built to support Android Auto.

But, there shouldn’t be any reason to ever need to enter passwords on the car’s screen. Anytime you need to do something like that for some app, you do it on the phone.

So much I learned just now: Android Auto ≠ Android Automotive:

Yeah, I just realized he’s talking about Android Automotive.

No idea on that one.

Android automotive is a complete and independen android version. Like tablet or phone. Is another device. So the has to be compatible with it to appear in the Google play that comes with the car:

Apparently only a few categories are permitted, but for example there is a Home assistant app already there.
