“An error has occurred” NOT SELF HOSTED

Hi.

I don’t need support but want to document this issue in case others run into it.

This morning my girlfriend could not find any passwords. I pay for a family account on Bitwarden.com and we do not self-host.

I opened the app on her iPhone (newest iOS) and was greeted with “an error occurred” and a blank screen.

I tried numerous things including killing the app and restarting it but nothing could get past this issue.

I finally fixed it by logging her out and having her log back in again.

This has as far as I can tell completely fixed the issue.

I searched the web for this issue and found several posts here, all of which have been closed down as self-hosted and inadmissible for this forum.

We do not self host. We do not use vaultwarden. We experienced this issue.

It’s worth noting that my iPhone 12 Max and android phone were not affected. Only my girlfriend’s iPhone XR.

Questions about self-hosting using one of the official Bitwarden server solutions are not inadmissible on the forum. Providing assistance for issues with 3rd-party products is out-of-scope, though (especially when there are other suitable support forums available for those products).
