Please add Open Web Vault button on the browser extension while unlocking (verifying master password).
I sometimes want to open web vault to edit some of my Logins.
I have to verify master password first, open settings tab, click Bitwarden Web Vault, and verify master password again to log into it.
It’s quite annoying to enter the long password twice.
If you put the Open Web Vault button on the first prompt of verifying master password, it becomes super simple.
This request is related to this one, but I feel it slightly different from my request, so I posted a new one.
Sorry to be confused, but why don’t you just edit your logins in the browser extension? Or why not just go directly to your web vault and bypass the browser extension entirely? Maybe I am misunderstanding what your intent is here?
For example when I want to edit my Logins based on a form name I open a developer tool and refer to HTML. Clicking the tool closes the Bitwarden extension. This is the most frequent case of when I need Web Vault.
It’s nicer if Bitwarden has quick access to Web Vault from the extension other than opening a new tab and scroll down the list of my favourites to find out the shortcut icon for it.
Including the link in the right-click menu (see the picture below) can be an alternative option, but the button looks nicer for me.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just create a URL bookmark in your browser to the web vault and then open the login there? I guess I still don’t understand why you need to go through the BW extension first? My apologies if this should be clearer to me!

I cannot put the URL bookmark on the top of my bookmark list. I have lots of important bookmarks to put on the top of my list, so I have to locate the bookmark to Web Vault deeper of my list. I have to search for the bookmark on my list when I want to use it. It takes longer than verifying the master password once to get an access to the Open Web Vault menu in the extension, so I prefer using it. And my wish is to skip verifying the first unnecessary password verification.
I understand better now - thanks. But is there any reason if you are in the browser extension already that you couldn’t edit the item there, instead of having to switch to the web vault? And have you thought of using a PIN to unlock your vault to make it even easier to open?

Didn’t it make sense? Sometimes I need to set a custom field options for auto-completion. I need to refer to HTML and copy paste it to the Bitwarden. Copying the field name needs clicks. Clicks close the extension popup. That’s why I need the Web Vault.
I can switch the browser tab back and forth to check the HTML and edit the Login, which is easier than opening the extension pop-up in a different window.
And I also feel better experience on editing the Login in bigger screen.
OK, understood. It’s too bad that the browser you use doesn’t support a sidebar, because running the BW extension in the sidebar would be ideal in this circumstance.
Of course, you can always pop-out the BW extension window, but then you would have to search for the login item again, I guess.
Anyways, thanks for the request and I hope you are able to garner some support for it!
