Add “Copy username” button next to “Copy password” in login entries

Body:

The Bitwarden Password Manager currently provides a “Copy password” button in each login entry, but there is no equivalent quick-action button for copying the username.
This results in additional steps for users, especially when accessing accounts frequently, switching between apps, or needing fast manual copying.

Why this is a real issue:

  • Many password managers provide both “Copy username” and “Copy password” as equal quick actions.

  • Users who frequently log in to multiple services have to manually open each entry and copy the username, adding unnecessary friction.

  • Accessibility and speed of interaction are reduced, especially on desktop and mobile.

  • Username and password are typically needed together; offering only one as a quick action is inconsistent.

Expected behavior:

A small “Copy username” icon/button should appear next to “Copy password” in the login item UI, similar to how other password managers implement it.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open any login entry in Bitwarden.

  2. Only “Copy password” is available as a quick action.

  3. Username requires opening the item, selecting, and copying manually.

Proposed solution:

  • Add an additional “Copy username” button next to “Copy password”.

  • This would improve usability, reduce friction, and bring consistency to the UI.

@oviyathiruchelvam Welcome to the forum!

As I see it, this is already implemented, so I’m going to close this feature request (with some delay for further clarification, if necessary).

When you open the browser extension, for any item, there is a copy button (1) – when you click it, you can copy username (2), password and TOTP code, if they’re stored in that item:

When you check “Show quick copy actions on Vault” (in Settings → Appearance), then you can also have separate quick copy buttons in your Vault view:

When you enter a login item (“View login”), then there is also a copy button for usernames already there:

So unless you can convince me (us) from the opposite, I think this is already implemented.

Is this convincing???

Yeah, I thought of this as well… indeed, @oviyathiruchelvam if an item has no username defined, then you also don’t see a copy button for a username. (but what would you like to even copy then??)
