Hi all,
I’ve updated my bitwarden application to 2026.1.0 recently on macOS 26.3. After the update, the design changed, which was a surprise, but fine.
I tried to use my normal workflow and wanted to create a new folder in my own vault. This is not possible anymore. The “+” button isn’t visible anymore. I could not find the button somewhere else, so how to create new folders or is this a bug?
Next I wanted to rename one my of nested folders, as I did before. Tried to click the edit button - nothing happens. Doing this on the first level of folders still works fine.
I tried the same in the web version and everything worked as before.
@Servior Welcome to the forum!
For now, you can go to “File” → “New folder”. – And the fix for this issue seems to be included in the next release of the desktop app. See here:

bug

### Steps To Reproduce
1. Open the desktop app.
2. Click on '+' (symbol/button … at the bottom)
### Expected Result
You can choose "Folder" to create a new folder. (like it is possible in the other BW apps)
### Actual Result
There is no option to create a new "Folder".
### Screenshots or Videos
Desktop app - "Folder" is missing in that list:

Example / Comparison: Browser extension (2026.1.0) - "Folder" is an option in that _same_ list:
<img width="604" height="377" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/0b53b90b-36af-4b99-a394-b8e47ab0160d" />
### Additional Context
Of course, via the main menu --> File --> New folder, it's still possible to create a new folder. But the menus should be consistent between all BW apps. (besides using the '+' is the shorter, faster, more convenient route)

### Issue Tracking Info
- [x] I understand that work is tracked outside of GitHub. A PR will be linked to this issue should one be opened to address it, but Bitwarden doesn't use fields like "assigned", "milestone", or "project" to track progress.
I think this also was mentioned somewhere already, but I have to search where that was… EDIT: Ah, I finally found it:
