You can now unlock your vault with a passkey

An even greater news is that you can now login and unlock your vault with your passkeys using Firefox. That’s right! The latest release of Firefox Nightly now finally support the long-waited PRF-extension, achieved feature parity with Chromium-based browsers!

@JasonHK Are you implying that the browser extension on Firefox Nightly shows the buttons for Passkey Login/Unlock? Or do you mean the web vault? – For the latter, I think it should be possible already… (on Firefox stable)

The latter, actually Android is just added support for Nightly few weeks ago, Beta will be supported since 24 Feb

Is there a plan for this to come to the Firefox browser platform?
(Extension unlock with FIDO2)

@CameronBarker I think so… I’m not sure at the moment where exactly I read this, but I think the missing “Related Origin Requests” feature on Firefox is a stopper for passkey login/unlock of the Firefox extension.

EDIT: Ah, here @Micah_Edelblut mentioned the “Related Origin (Requests)” as a precondition for “login with passkey” for the browser extensions:

Is there a plan to have the same supported on the Android Bitwarden app?

@gdm Welcome to the forum!

Yup, it seems there is… well, at least passkey login was “announced”: https://youtu.be/PgiKKzkUCbg?si=g-deUttfTS0TInQ6&t=2392 (indeed, I have no idea if passkey unlock will come along with passkey login – or if it will come later)
