I’m sorry if I am posting too many problems but I am my wits end and need help to resolve this issue.
I made a lot of mistakes when I deployed my first self-hosted Bitwarden deployment. I have no choice but to deploy a new one because underlying Ubuntu OS is EOL and unable to update.
One of my main mistakes is I must have ran the installer script as root despite the warnings.
Another was how I fought with ports because I thought my ISP was blocking them.
I have now corrected these mistakes.
I have completed all the steps under “Linux Standard Deployment.”
The install seemed to be successful and all the docker containers were up and running and healthy. My certificate pulled successfully and the vault page loads successfully without the :8443 that I needed before.
Only now I cannot log in. I get a red box in the right. “An error has occurred. An unexpected error has occurred.” I tried using Safari and the vault page will not load completely.
I then attempted to follow the steps in “Backup your hosted data” and I restored a nightly backup using the offline restore method.
The docker containers are still up and healthy but I still cannot log in.
Then I tried copying the entire bwdata folder from my original working installation to the new one.
The docker containers are still up and healthy but I still cannot log in.
I’ve run all available updates and restarted numerous times.
I’ve tried logging into browsers on computers where I do NOT have my extension installed and I’m getting the same error.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Please let me know if I’ve left out any information that I need to include.
