Unable to launch a web page from a Bitwarden entry

I must be missing something obvious. I am new to Bitwarden, just installed today. I now have some entries with for websites with user names and passwords, but don’t seem to be able to click anything to log me in to those sites. There is supposed to be some arrow button somewhere but not anywhere I see. I am using the Firefox Bitwarden extension.

@Richard_Teitelman Welcome to the forum!

Hm, I think the launch icon should be there for “Favorites” and “All items” on the “Vault” tab as well:

I’m not sure, if you speak of two things here - one thing is the launch icon to open the websites, the other thing seems to be any of the auto-fill methods. For the latter, here is a guide for the browser extensions: Autofill Logins in Browser Extensions | Bitwarden

PS: For both functions - the website-launch icon and auto-fill - the URLs associated to login items and “match detection settings” play an important role also, so also have a look into this Help Site: Using URIs | Bitwarden

(and to put in other words, if you neither see the launch-icon nor possibilities to auto-fill, it sounds like you are missing the (correct) URLs/URIs to your login items…)

There is NO such square box with the arrow on my list of entries page. Its Not there. I have only the “copy info icon” and the three dots;. I’d send a screen shot but the vault disappears from my screen as soon as I open the windows snipping tool.

That said, I do not see the URL in my entry, I see the Item Name, the username and the password. where is the URL? I imported these entries from LastPass. But there is nothing in the item entry named URL so where did it go ?

So it seems, your URLs were not imported correctly. - And just for the terminology: your URLs should be in “Autofill options”, stored as “Website”… Bitwarden calls it also URI (uniform resource identifier), as not only URLs can be used there…

Did you follow the steps described here, to import your data into Bitwarden: Import Data from LastPass | Bitwarden ?

So how do I add the AutoFill Options (Website) field to my entries? I don’t see a way,

Yes, I followed those instructions. were the autofill options (website) info supposed to to get imported from Lastpass? if yes, perhaps I did something wrong. But I see the URL info in the .csv file I exported from LastPass

How do I delete ALL my entries in the Vault so I can start over? I think I want to import directly from LastPass and not import from the .csv file I created from Lastpass. Is that right?

That’s good, that they are in the csv. So, something did seem to went wrong with the import.

Without ever importing something from LastPass myself… I very sure, the URLs should get imported.

Again, as I lack personal experience here, I can’t answer that question. But when the LastPass-export-csv-file contains the URLs… both ways should, in theory, lead to a correct import, I guess.

Obviously be careful doing that only, when you still have the data :wink:… In the Bitwarden web vault, go to Settings → My account. In the “Danger zone”, there is “Purge vault”, which deletes all items in your vault. :warning:

PS: Speaking a bit in hypotheticals now: If you followed the exact instructions, it could also e.g. be that LastPassed changed their export format… And sometimes it is necessary, to condition a csv or json file for it to be imported correctly into Bitwarden…

well, I found a different way to delete all my vault entries. and then this time, I found the option to import directly from Lastpass rather than from the .csv I had exported from Lastpass. NOW I see everything I should. Thanks for the help. Now I am ready to try it out.
