two accounts on same e-mail identity

Many years ago I created a Bitwarden account, but never started to use it (and forgot it).

Now when changing from Windows 10 to Linux I decided to use Bitwarden and created a

Bitwarden account with same email address as the old one. No complaints(!). I started to use it

and it works ok regarding webb brouser and outofill etc. But I cannot login to the account with

my new master-password in the Bitwarden app (or on the web). But thanks to my old password

manager I could get the old master password and it was accepted but showed an empty vault!

Obviously I have two vaults with the same email identity and it is not OK.

Question: how do I delete the old account without destroying the new one with the same identity?

@svtlin Welcome to the forum!

Most likely, your original account was registered on the bitwarden.com server, and your new account was registered on the bitwarden.eu server. The two servers are completely independent of one another, so it is possible to have two accounts using the same email address (one on each server).

Whenever you log in to a Bitwarden app or browser extension, at the bottom of the first login screen (where you enter your email address), there is an option to select which server you are logging in to. You should ensure that the correct server is selected before entering your email address and clicking Continue.

To delete the old account, log in on the web vault using the correct server (most likely vault.bitwarden.com), then go to Settings > My Account, scroll down to the red box labeled “Danger Zone”, and click Delete Account.

Thank you for your rapid response and the correct description of my situation! I have

followed your advice and deleted the unneeded account.

Thank you
