Anyone having issues with signing into the BitWarden Google Chrome Extension?
I started using BitWarden about 6 months ago with no issue, but for the last 2 or 3 months, anytime I attempt to sign in I get an “An error has occurred. An unexpected error has occurred.” message. I can sign in via the website just fine.
@kwright Could you please post a screenshot of the Admin Dashboard of your self-hosted Bitwarden server?
Other than that: did you already try to to deinstall and reinstall the BW extension on Chrome? If you do, I’d recommend to make sure that the local storage of the BW extension was deleted before you reinstall.
I will reach out to my team members who have access to the BitWarden server for this screenshot.
And yes, I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall the extension multiple times now.
@kwright Ah, okay… and then I would also ask for support from your admins… BTW, for us here and maybe to them as well also relevant: what OS and browser version, and BW browser extension version, are you using?

Browser Version: Google Chrome Version 143.0.7499.41 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Extension Version: 2025.11.1
P.S. - I have also tried using Microsoft Edge and experienced the same issue.
Update: Issue resolved after some patches and updates to our self-hosted server.
