All,

We have not forgotten about this, but it has taken a back seat to more pressing issues. The discovery that Bitwarden works over Tor on Android using Orbot only diminished the urgency of the feature. We would love to see Tor support on for Bitwarden iOS and will eventually get around to adding it, but we do not have the resources as present. That said, if someone from the community were to take on the task, we would be a valuable resource, having already built Tor libraries for the Capacitor mobile hybrid platform. The native Java code is already written; what is needed is the Xamarin plugin code as well as some minor edits to Bitwardenā€™s self-hosted connection logic to utilize the Xamarin code in the case of a .onion TLD. If someone wants to take this on, please let me know; otherwise we will get to it when we get to it.

Orbot is now on iOS!!!

Now that iOS and Android both have Orbot, it is not neccesary for Bitwarden mobile apps to support Tor natively.

HOWEVER, the iOS app currently requires https, whereas a Bitwarden server hosted on Tor would require http. Hopefully an easy fix. Created a new ticket: Permit "http" on iOS
