The new UI displays lists All Items (>1000) on the first screen, why?

The new UI for Chrome extension displays all Login Items on the first screen.
This can be hundreds and even over 1000 items for a user.

What is the benefit of listing that verbose information to the user on the first screen? Who will scroll down to find anything there?

The old UI only listed the matching Login items then all Cards and Identities below them on the first screen, which was quite useful. Then the Vault tab showed everything else.

Would you consider returning back to the previous experience which was more useful? Or maybe just list the items when some search filter is entered and if filter is empty then display only matching items with Cards and Identities?

Just FYI, beginning with extension version 2025.1.1, you can collapse the Favorites section and All Items section of the Vault tab, so that you donā€™t see all items if you donā€™t want that.

Cards and Identities seem to come back as (I think optional) separate sections in the Vault tab with one of the next releases:

Could you please explain that option a bit better, because when you have a search filter entered, how can then the (search?) filter be also empty??

Anyway, Iā€™m going to convert your feature request for now into ā€œAsk the Communityā€, as it doesnā€™t seem clear, what your exact request is. Before you get angry at me now: would a vote for this request be for ā€œreturning back to the previous experienceā€ (whatever that means exactly) or for ā€œnot showing all itemsā€ (which is already possible) or ā€œonly displaying matching items with Cards and Identitiesā€? ā†’ And if I wanted to see all items (= contra your request), but liked another one of your ideas (= pro your request): how should I vote then?

So, a feature request must contain more or less one single thing, making it possible to vote for that one thing. Please feel free to open a new feature request (or more) for that one thing. :+1:

Maybe you can make a new feature request to the effect ā€œAutomatically collapse ā€˜All Itemsā€™ when not searching/filteringā€.

Why are they rendered anyway? Whatā€™s the point of outputting all data onto the homepage? In reality, people have hundreds of items there if not thousands and listing them all is not very useful. Less is moreā€¦

I hope they come back, it takes ages to find my card information.
Bitwarden sometimes can understand a page is asking for a card information and lists them in Auto-fill Suggestions on extension homepage but Iā€™ve seen many times it does not understand the card information is being asked and it is difficult to find cards and filtering takes like 3-4 clicks through small buttonsā€¦ Almost like itā€™s easier to take out my card and type it on the form.

Usecase:
If search box is empty: Show only current pageā€™s relevant login items, all cards and identities.
If search box is not empty: Show all matching items based on the search text, regardless of current pageā€™s matching items.
There can even be a button beside the search box saying ā€œALLā€ and when clicked the search box can disable and all items would be shown.

As I mentioned before, collapsing doesnā€™t make Card and Identity information easily accessible. Most people have hundreds or thousands of login items while only have a few cards. There is not much point in mixing all of them and outputting them all on a single screen, regardless of collapsed or not. These information can be separated and shown as such.

This functionality is already being restored.
