Sidenote: I changed the title from “Support for passkey QR codes” to “Support for passkey QR codes / CDA (Cross-Device Authentication)”, as it is CDA in the end that’s requested here.
Updated sidenote: Since I finally can test it myself now with my Android phone, I can indeed confirm, that CDA (Cross Device Authentication) is already possible with the Android mobile app, as @dwbit wrote in this other and some following posts there. (i.e. scanning a passkey QR code with the phone’s QR scanner app and then using a passkey from your Bitwarden vault – given there is a bluetooth connection between both devices)
So, I changed the title of this feature request again and now to Support for passkey QR code usage via the mobile app on Android <14 – and the question remains, if that is even possible, as Android below version 14 doesn’t “allow” or support third-party passkey providers – and I’m not sure if the passkeys / FIDO specs would allow a scenario that this feature request aims at. (@dwbit ?!)
