If you are using software like BitBetter to modify Bitwarden and get around a license purchase, I think this might be one of the consequences.

I guess so, might be more reliable to switch completely to GitHub - dani-garcia/vaultwarden: Unofficial Bitwarden compatible server written in Rust, formerly known as bitwarden_rs instead of modifying the code base.
